Description
A bull Moose with velvet antlers in a woodland forest from Montana, USA. Artistically enhanced misty brown Sepia photography art design of wildlife.
The moose, Alces americanus, is the largest extant species in the deer biological family and the tallest mammal in North America. It stands six feet tall from shoulders to feet.
Moose are distinguished by the broad, flat antlers of the males. Moose typically inhabit boreal forests and temperate broadleaf and mixed forests of the Northern Hemisphere. Unlike most other deer species, moose are solitary animals and do not form herds. Although generally slow-moving and sedentary, moose can become aggressive and move quickly if angered or startled.
