Azaleas can be deciduous or evergreen shrubs with clusters of white or colorful flowers that last for several weeks. Depending on the species and climate zone, they bloom in either Spring or Fall. Azaleas are shade tolerant plants and prefer living near or under trees. They are in the genus Rhododendron and family of Ericaceae.
